Zaynab Hilal is a first-generation Arab American born and raised in Houston, Texas. She received a BS in Anthropology with minors in Sociology and India Studies from the University of Houston. In 2024, she completed her MA in Museum and Exhibitions Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago and is now the Windgate Curatorial Fellow at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.

Zaynab is committed to social, environmental, and art activism, and plans to support and uplift underrepresented artists as an emerging curator. She was the Scholarly Series and Catalog Publication coordinator of the Surviving the Long Wars project. In her free time, Zaynab enjoys writing for her blog, Around Art, and visiting the latest exhibitions along with community volunteering.
